With the Edge Explore, you can dive into adventure without losing your way. It comes with the Garmin Cycle Map pre-installed, showing the way to virtually anywhere—from scenic country routes to restaurants or bike shops. Routes are generated using Trendline popular road route technology, based on data from billions of kilometers ridden by cyclists. This system lets you easily navigate cyclists’ favorite routes and trails as if you’ve known them forever. Along the way, Edge Explore provides turn-by-turn directions and, of course, is smart enough to get you back on track if you veer off course, or back to your starting point if you decide to head home early.
Enhanced Cycling SignalsEdge Explore is compatible with the Varia™ line of cycling signaling devices, including the rearview Radar and smart bike lights. By pairing the Radar with your Edge device, you’ll receive on-screen alerts warning you of cars approaching from behind. This way, you can see and be seen while riding. Edge Explore features a built-in assistance and incident detection function1, which automatically sends your location to an emergency contact if you find yourself in trouble.
Stay connected on your rideswith
Put your phone away and enjoy the ride, because Edge Explore offers all the smart connectivity features you need. Use LiveTrack to let family and friends know your location in real time, or GroupTrack to track up to 50 riding buddies. If your riding buddies pull ahead or fall behind, rider-to-rider messaging (available with a compatible smartphone) lets you send preset messages from your Edge bike computer to theirs. Let your companions know if you plan to catch up in a few minutes or if you’d rather they go ahead without you. If you get a flat tire or need help, you can send a message to your GroupTrack-linked riding buddies so they can easily find you.
Customize your device
The Edge Explore bike computer can be easily customized with free apps, widgets, and data fields available in our Connect IQ™ store. Apps like AccuWeather MinuteCast let you know when the rain will stop so you can schedule a bike ride. Plus, if you plan your rides on sites like Strava Summit, Komoot, or Wikiloc, you can download these apps to import your favorite routes directly to your Edge. If you’re looking for a nearby coffee shop or bike shop, use the Yelp app to download the location and direct route to them on your Edge device.
