POWER METER:
Left/right balance: indicates, as a percentage, the individual power generated by the left and right legs.
The L/R Power Balance values allow you to monitor the dominant/non-dominant leg ratio and observe how this varies in relation to different riding conditions and physical condition. This can be useful for correcting penalizing imbalances, including in post-traumatic rehabilitation programs.
Unlike others, Assioma power meter pedals return these metrics through actual double-sided measurements, not estimates.
CADENCE:
Indicates the number of revolutions made by the pedal in one minute (rpm).
Assioma's integrated cadence sensor constantly detects and transmits this value to the bike computer: therefore, it is unnecessary to use a separate cadence sensor.
Torque Efficiency (TE): indicates, as a percentage, the amount of power generated during a pedal stroke that actually contributed to the cyclist's propulsion.
This value is based on the Positive Power (P +), which pushed the pedal forward, and the Negative Power (P -), which pushed in the opposite direction, applied to the crank at each revolution.
Negative power can be counteracted by helping the foot "come back up" in the recovery phase: pulling it up by the clipped-in shoe.
100% torque effectiveness occurs when no negative power has been accumulated during a pedal stroke. The typical TE value can vary between 60% and 100%.
Assioma UNO indicates the Torque Effectiveness value for the left leg, while Assioma DUO provides data for both the left and right legs.
Pedal Smoothness (PS): indicates, as a percentage, how evenly power is distributed over a complete revolution of a pedal stroke. A value of 100% means that power is delivered consistently throughout the entire revolution: the higher the value, the more "rounded" the pedaling will be.
