What health services does Escapa Barcelona offer?
BIOMECHANICS
A biomechanical study is essential for anyone who trains on a bike, whatever their goal, from enjoying cycling more to competing at a high level. Each study is individualized and based on three basic premises, highlighting the one on which the cyclist wants to focus their goals:
. Greater comfort on the bike.
. Prevention of injuries and discomfort.
. Performance optimization.
The biomechanical study can be performed for the vast majority of disciplines and bikes: Road, MTB, Triathlon and Time Trial, Gravel, and Cyclocross.
TRAINING
Training advice and planning, with plans tailored to each cyclist, taking into account the profile, needs, and goals of each individual. Using power meters or heart rate monitors, tools such as TrainingPeaks, WKo5, lactate analyzers, or encoders for strength training.
NUTRITION
Clinical nutritional assessment with anthropometric analysis. Nutritional plans tailored to the individual profile of the cyclist and each phase of their training. Preparation and strategy before, during, and after events or competitive trials. Specific nutritional treatment for clinical pathologies and special diets, vegetarianism, and veganism.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE BIOMECHANICAL STUDY
Interview
Cycling history, previous pathologies, feelings on the bike, short/long-term goals
Analysis of biomechanics and current bicycle measurements
Dynamic 3D evaluation of current posture on the bike, cause and origin of pain and dysfunction, bike support points, evaluation and re-education of pedaling motor pattern and position on the bike.
Foot and pelvis analysis. Cleat and saddle adjustment
Anatomical analysis of the foot and pedaling and subsequent adjustment of cleats and pedals. Analysis of the position and function of the pelvis and ischial tuberosities and recommendation of a saddle suitable for the patient's anatomy and biomechanics.
Dynamic analysis and personalized biomechanical adjustment of the bicycle
Adjustment and optimization of lower body measurements (height, tilt, and setback of saddle, cranks, and pedals) and upper body measurements (height, width, tilt, and reach of handlebars and stem).
Recording and complete report on the study
Recording of all new bicycle measurements and delivery of a personalized report. Video comparison of initial vs. final position.
Follow-up visit and micro adjustments
Review of adjustments within the first two months and implementation of minor modifications and final adjustments.
