Escapapresents the world's lightest and fastest aluminum full-suspension bike.
18.4% lighter than its closest competitor and sharing the geometry and kinematics of the World Cup-ready Specialized Epic 8, the new Specialized Chisel Shimano 25 Bike delivers performance you can feel, whether you're racing "between the tapes" or riding solo on your local trails.
METALLICALLY FAST
It's the lightest aluminum XC frame in its class. Each highly manipulated frame tube features continuous wall thickness variation and a shape that provides stiffness where you need it for greater efficiency and smoothness where you want it for comfort and optimal control.
UNLIMITED CAPABILITY
With 110mm of suspension featuring our Ride Dynamics technology, the Chisel's high-performance pedigree traces directly back to the Epic 8, our World Cup race machine. The DNA of the Epic 8's advanced suspension kinematics, Ride Dynamics suspension, and progressive geometry perfected on technical World Cup courses is found in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling varied terrain with confidence and speed.
INCREDIBLY EFFICIENT
The Chisel is the most efficient lung bike in its class, thanks to the geometry and kinematics used in our World Cup-winning Epic 8 platform. The sloping seat tube puts the rider in the optimal pedaling position. Sharp anti-squat reduces "false pedaling." All of this allows the Chisel to translate every watt applied to the pedals into maximum forward motion.
SMOOTHER IS FASTER
We designed a rear end with flexible stays to deliver class-leading suspension performance while eliminating the extra weight and maintenance associated with the pivots required in a traditional design. More common on carbon bikes, extensive field and lab testing proves that Chisel has achieved the impossible: the efficiency, control, and lightness of a flexible stay design in advanced aluminum.
HYDROFORMED ALUMINUM
The Chisel saves material and weight with a one-piece hydroformed seat tube that integrates the seat tube pivot, main pivot, and bottom bracket shell. On a more traditional bike, the seat tube is usually just a "tube" with the pivots and bottom bracket shell welded on.
