Alma's World Cup geometry is the result of years of designing XC bikes at the highest level. The position is energetic, comfortable, and fast. Unlike trail geometry, which sacrifices accuracy in exchange for resistance, XC geometry is precise and intuitive to provide maximum power transfer. The angles and dimensions have been carefully selected from a range of sizes to increase power by improving efficiency.
OMR CARBON FRAME
Orbea Monocoque Race (OMR) technology adds high-modulus, high-strength fibers to the standard laminate to improve the balance between stiffness and weight. Inflatable chamber molding in molds with EPS foam and polyurethane inserts in the head tube and bottom bracket areas eliminates roughness at critical points, allowing less carbon to be used without compromising strength.

DYNAMIC STRUCTURE
The lower half of the frame bears the vast majority of torsional and lateral loads. That's why we designed the head tube, top tube, and chainstays to resist these loads and transfer power to the rear wheel. There's no question about it: high flex resistance in the lower part of the frame translates directly into more watts at the wheel and a feeling of immediate power transfer.
COMFORT
It is essential to study the behavior of the frame under the weight of the rider in order to adjust the way vibrations are transmitted throughout the upper structure of the frame. The new Alma features thinner seat stays and reduced cross-sections and diameters to provide the seat tube with just the right amount of support and nothing more. The top tube is robust at its junction with the head tube to provide lateral stiffness to the frame, but it tapers immediately afterwards to eliminate unnecessary material. Thanks to the flexible patterns that the carbon laminate naturally creates and the use of a minimal amount of material in the top tube and seat stays, we have achieved a dynamic and smooth ride that feels like you are floating above the ground. It is a subtle but perfectly perceptible and verifiable sensation that, at the end of a tough race, can make the difference between the podium and the top 10.
