AtEscapa, we have the best frames from the best brands so you can build your dream bike.

Before introducing the innovative Tarmac SL8 and its unprecedented combination of aerodynamics, lightness, and ride quality, we relied on feedback from our most trusted riders to validate our designs. We made the first two frames for Remco Evenepoel and Demi Vollering to compete in the 2023 UCI Road World Championships.

Now, for the first time, a limited number of these Specialized S-Works Project Black LTD 24 framesare being made available to riders around the world. Although they are S-Works Tarmac SL8s in every respect, these frames do not bear the Tarmac name to ensure secrecy prior to launch. Even the official UCI sticker indicates that this is a "prototype."

PROJECT BLACK:

Specialized relies on feedback from professional athletes to both develop and test advanced pre-production products in real-world applications. With this high-level feedback, some of these design elements and products end up appearing in future retail product offerings.

AERO EVERYWHERE:

We put aerodynamics where it matters, at the leading edge, not just where it looks good. In the process, we've created our most aerodynamic road bike ever. Yes, it's more aerodynamic than the Venge. Clean air is optimized for maximum advantage with the Tarmac's new nose cone: the Speed Sniffer. Doesn't victory smell sweet?

MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERO:

The Tarmac SL8 drew on the experience of the Aethos to be easily manufactured with minimum UCI and a full aero configuration. The team created an amazing 685-gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and any other World Tour bike*. With the ability to make lightness a top priority in the down tube, seat tube, and rear of the bike, lessons from Aethos were applied. The frame shape carries the load so efficiently that additional layers of carbon stiffness are redundant. *Except, of course, when Kasper Asgreen raced with our 585-gram Aethos frame during a stage of the Tour.

RIDES LIKE HELL, ROADS LIKE HEAVEN:

With a huge increase in stiffness-to-weight ratio—a 33% improvement over the SL7—the Tarmac SL8 takes legendary handling, aggressive responsiveness, and World Championship-proven geometry to the next level. Thanks to our Rider-First engineering, all riders, regardless of size, get the same unprecedented ride quality and handling. In the saddle, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6% more compliance, floating over the road with a feeling of flexibility unique in the world of race bikes. The Tarmac's proven geometry and 32mm clearance are identical to the SL7, ensuring easy adaptation and the versatility to fit higher-volume tires when needed.
